Gingerbread Recipe

Gingerbread Notes

This is a basic gingerbread, but using Spice House spices makes it terrific.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup oleo (margarine), almost melted
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Serves / Yields

One 8x8 Pan

Preparation Instructions

Sift dry ingredients together and add to liquid ingredients. Mix well and pour into greased and floured 8x8 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool and serve.
