Lemon Poppy Seed Pound cake Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel
  • 13 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Preparation Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly beat the eggs, vanilla and butter. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl, including lemon and poppy. Add 1/2 ot the egg mixture and beat until even. With the mixer on high, beat in the remaining egg mixture gradually. Best for 20 minutes. Pour the batter into an 8x4x2.5 floured loaf pan. Bake 60 minutes.
