Wassail - Christmas Punch Recipe
- 6 cups dry red wine
- 10 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup granulated or packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons whole allspice
- 2 3 inch cinnamon sticks
- 2 oranges, studded with cloves
Serves / Yields
32 half-cup servings
Heat wine, cider, sugar, cloves, allspice and cinnamon to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Strain punch into punch bowl. Float clove-studded orange slices in bowl.
