Chinese food is a broad category covering many diverse regional cuisines, including Sichuan, Hunan and Cantonese. Each of the varied regions of China has its own unique cuisine, but they do have many ingredients and traditions in common.

Chinese immigrants brought their cooking to America in the 19th century, and it has become one of our foremost ethnic cuisines. Almost every town has a Chinese restaurant, so many of us have never tried to make our own Chinese food.
