Diced Jalapeno Chiles

Named after Jalapa, the capital of the Mexican state of Veracruz, this diced japlapeño flakes lends Latin flair, mild heat, and ‘green’ flavor to a wide variety of dishes such as soups, omelettes, salsa, and cornbread. When smoked, japaleños become chipotle peppers.

Details

These convenient diced peppers are made from the fruity flesh of the peppers with the seeds removed, meaning they have a milder heat level (around 18,000 Scoville heat units). They’re an easy way to add heat without the fuss of cutting fresh peppers. When using these dried jalapeno flakes in dishes with very little liquid or a short cooking time, we recommend rehydrating the peppers before use by steeping in hot water for 10-15 minutes.
