Carne Asada Steak Seasoning

Carne asada is a staple at Sunday lunches in Mexico. Rich in flavor and mild in heat, carne asada is made by marinating skirt steak in soy sauce, lime juice, vegetable oil, and this blend. Serve the steak with grilled onions or slice it up for fajitas.

Mix 1/4 cup of Carne Asada Rub with 1/3 cup each of soy sauce, lime juice and vegetable oil for a delicious skirt steak marinade. Marinate for 3-10 hours, then grill over a high heat until the steak is charred outside and medium rare inside. For fajitas, reserve some of the marinade and toss with sliced peppers and onions before cooking. This carne asada dry rub is also great on chicken, pork chips, squash and elotes. Blended in small batches from Guajillo chilies, New Mexican chilies, chipotle chilies, cumin, coriander, garlic, onion, brown sugar, Mexican oregano, cloves and star anise.
