Hot Curry

The word curry is Tamil for sauce. Originating in South Asia, the story of curry's dispersion is the story of the British Empire. Today, you'll find it in the cuisine of the former colonies, from South Africa to the Caribbean. This Spicy Curry Powder is for the adventurous chef who enjoys making roghan josh, madras, and vindaloo.

Details

Even though Indian food is often quite hot, this curry powder is based on classic British-style curries and uses over a dozen spices for a subtle, balanced flavour with only a moderate heat level. Great for curried chicken or vegetables, mulligatawny soup or kedgeree. For those who prefer no heat at all, we offer a Sweet Curry Powder. Mixed in small batches from: turmeric, coriander, cayenne red pepper, China No. 1 ginger, Indian cumin, white pepper, cinnamon, fenugreek, fennel, nutmeg, arrowroot, cardamom, cloves, and Tellicherry pepper.
