Cinnamon, Korintje Ground Cassia

This high-grade cassia cinnamon, Cinnamomum burmannii, has a sharp, sweet flavor with a slightly bitter edge. Indonesian cinnamon is by far the most common in America, so this is the familiar flavor most people expect when tasting cinnamon.

Korintje cinnamon accounts for most of the cassia cinnamon we import to the US. Although it lacks the depth of Chinese or Vietnamese cinnamon, it has lovely flavor with a bit of bite. This is a common choice for commercial bakeries as it has a good flavor and a lower cost. While other stores typically carry the lower grade B or C type, we carry the highest grade A of this cinnamon.
