Ghost Peppers

This hybrid pepper from India's northeast can be up to five times hotter than a habanero. Its capsaicin content is so high that farmers sometimes use them `to keep wild elephants away. Ghost Peppers add a fiery blast to chili or salsa. As with any hot pepper, be sure to handle them with great caution!

In 2007, Ghost Peppers held the title of “hottest peppers in the world” until 2012, when Scorpion Peppers finally beat them out. These think-skinned peppers are perfect for adding a fiery blast of heat to chili, salsas, sauces, or any dish that needs a lot of heat. Ghost peppers range from 350,00 to 577,000 Scoville heat units. Use them sparingly and handle with caution - we recommend cutting them in a well-ventilated area and handling only with gloved hands, and don’t forget to wash your hands thoroughly when you're finished handling them.
