Perfect and authentic!
The sweet paprika is perfect for authentic Hungarian goulash. It's wonderfully smooth and works so well in the low-and-slow cooking.
This very high quality paprika from the Kalocsa region of Hungary bears the name Csemege, or “Exquisite Delicacy.” Hungarian sweet paprika is the paprika of choice for classic dishes like goulash, cabbage rolls, and stuffed bell peppers. It also makes a flavorful garnish for deviled eggs, potato or pasta salads, baked chicken or fish. We also carry organic sweet paprika. Ingredients: Hungarian paprika.

Fragrant, aromatic, just like paprika I used to buy in Germany and Hungary.
Use in Hungarian goulash and pan fried potatoes.
The only Hungarian paprika I found in the store is Papa brand, but this one is more flavorful.
I'm not a fan of smoke on my poultry so I favor sweet paprika and this one is the best I've tried. It has all the wonderful flavor notes of sweet paprika without smelling like it was cheap paprika with sweetener added to give you a similar flavor.
My husband and I are in love with paprika. We actually had a paprika taste off between Hungarian sweet, Hungarian smoked, Spanish sweet and Spanish smoked. Hungarian stoke the show! I can’t describe the difference but it was markedly better than Spanish. While I didn’t get them ALL from SH (might have got some from his brother), this was our favorite! We love slicing potatoes and laying them in the bottom of a roaster pan, then spatchcocking a whole chicken, coat with a little oil oil, paprika and salt. The chicken is so delicious and the potatoes soak up all the flavor that drips down! I don’t make goulash but we use this for another classics Hungarian dish - paprikash! You cal also marinate chicken with yogurt and paprika and thrown it on the grill. Yumm!!
