Mix the water and cocoa and set aside to cool completely.
Mix the dry ingredients and set aside.
Beat eggs slightly in a large bowl.
Add sugar, butter, and vanilla, then mix.
Then add 1/4 of the flour mixture and 1/3 of the cocoa mixture and repeat with the remainders.
Beat in a mixer for 5 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350
Butter and wax paper line three 8" circular cake pans, and pour in batter.
Bake for 25 minutes or till a toothpick comes out nearly dry.
Cool for 15 minutes.
Turn over onto a plate, and frost as desired when the cakes are cooled.
