Heat oil in a deep skillet, add onion, garlic and ginger and cook on low until soft (about 20 min if you have the patience). Add Berbere blend and paprika to create a paste . Add tomato paste. Add lentils and water and let simmer until lentils are soft (about 15-20 min), add more water if consistency is too thick. Serve hot with injera bread or over rice.
