Black Lampong peppercorns are a young, sharp black pepper. These peppercorns from Indonesia are picked earlier in the ripening process. They do not have the depth of the Tellicherry pepper, but they do have a sharpness and heat that many find appealing. If you'd like to sample pepper with a higher heat level, give these peppercorns a try.
I don't think a really good pie can be made without a dozen or so children peeking over your shoulder as you stoop to look in on it every little while.
