Stores - Geneva
Visit our newest location, opened just before Christmas in 2007, in the heart of beautiful downtown Geneva Illinois, a charming downtown area with the feeling you might have gone back in time to when things were more wholesome and people knew each other in their neighborhoods. Patty fell in love with this downtown Geneva location almost two years before we opened here. We found a nice vacancy on State Street, but then decided we were just not quite ready. A year later, we felt we had our ducks in a row. We began the search again from square one. We searched dozens of neighborhoods, from Libertyville to Orland Park. We met lots of nice folks along the way, and it made us feel really great how many communities were excited about the thought of a Spice House coming to town. We just kept finding ourselves drawn back to Geneva. Finally, we stopped fighting destiny, bit the bullet, and signed a lease here.
One of the things we really like about Geneva is the variety of wonderful festivals put on by the city and the Chamber of Commerce. If you are driving out from Chicago and want to make a day of it, check out the list of events on the Geneva City Page for more information. You can also add to your “charming day in the country” experience by taking the Metra train from the city. The picturesque journey is a little over an hour, and our shop is right across the street from the train station.
There is tons of free parking on the street, and a big lot behind the shop with free parking on weekends and a nominal charge during the week (you would probably also have to pay for parking during a festival).
The Spice House is a member of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.
