Cooked Play-Dough Recipe
Cooked Play-Dough Notes
This recipe was provided by one of our customers in the Evanston store.
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tablespoons cream of tarter or granulated alum
- 1 cup salt
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for fragrance
- optional food coloring
Mix dry ingredients together. Add food coloring, vanilla, and oil to water. Mix wet and dry ingredients in a pot. Cook over low heat, stirring often. As it gets thicker, it looks like mashed potatoes. Remove from pot and cool. Knead play dough into a ball before using. Between uses, store in and airtight container or plastic bag.
