Dot's Chocolate Chip Fudge Notes
Dot Walzer was a family friend from Webster, NY. She passed away a few years ago, but her Chocolate Chip Fudge tradition lives on in Winfield, IL.
Ingredients
- 5 cups sugar
- 1/2 pound butter
- 1 large can evaporated milk
- 3 (6 ounce) packages Chocolate Chips - semi-sweet (not milk)
- 1 bag regular marshmallows (or 6 cups miniature or 1 7 1/5 g jar of kraft fluff)
- 1 pound chopped nuts
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Serves / Yields
5 lbs
Preparation Instructions
Boil sugar, butter, and evaporated milk for 8 minutes - rolling boil
Add chocolate chips and marshmallows. Beat until melted
Add chopped nuts and vanilla
Pour into buttered 9x13 pan
Helpful Hints
I skip the nuts. It has an interesting gritty texture to it, not a smooth, store bought feel. I've had a lot of complements on the fudge at bake sales. It is VERY rich.
