Fall Inspired Croutons Recipe

Fall Inspired Croutons Notes
As I adapted a recipe for a stuffed acorn squash that had wild rice and mild seasonings, I developed these croutons to add flavor and texture. Outstanding even on their own out of hand! Sweet and savory with a crunch and richness of butter.
Ingredients
- Four slices semi-firm white bread, cut into 3/4" cubes
- 4-6 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon Gateway to the North Maple-Garlic Seasoning
- 1 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
Serves / Yields
Approx. 2 cups
Preparation Instructions
Slighty toast cubes in 350 degree oven, about 5 minutes. Drizzle melted butter on cubes and toss well trying to coat all the bread. Sprinkle with maple-garlic seasoning and brown sugar and toss well to coat. At this point either top your squash or casserole with the croutons, drizzle with a little more butter and bake; or finish toasting for a "finished" crouton and other applications. OMG! So good!
