Brown Chipotle chiles are a medium heat, 4-6 on a scale of 10. Underneath the smokey flavor lies a grassy, light-spicy fruitiness. They are larger and smokier than the more common morita variety and hold up well to stonger flavors. Meco chipotles are imported into the United States in much smaller quantities than moritas.
