Jalapeno peppers are probably the most popular of the chile pepper family, due to its flavorful heat.
Our diced jalapeno has most of the hot inner seeds removed; it rates around 30,000 scoville heat units. Shake it onto pizza, spaghetti, taco or burrito meat. Use them in salsa or corn bread.
The powdered jalapeno is a little hotter, around 35,000 heat units. It blends nicely in sauces, chili, salsa and adds pizzazz when sprinkled over vegetables, chicken, chops, ribs, or eggs. It's great for spicy bread sticks, chip dips, and as a secret ingredient for Bloody Marys.
To make a good salad is to be a brilliant diplomatist. The problem is entirely the same in both cases: to know how much oil one must mix with one's vinegar.
