This is an appetizer that my children and grandchildren always request, especially on Friday nights when we get together for movie-watching! It was handed down by their great-great grandfather, who started the movie-watching tradition.
6-8 servings
Place bacon strips separately on broiler pan (may take two batches).
In medium bowl, mix together remaining ingredients and sprinkle over the bacon evenly. Pat down with fingers for good, even coverage.
Place under broiler until crisp, then turn over to crisp other side being sure to watch it closely.
Drain on paper towels, and it is ready to serve (although it disappears quickly!).
Don't be afraid of adding cayenne, as it dissipates while broiling.

As the days grow short, some faces grow long. But not mine. Every autumn, when the wind turns cold and darkness comes early, I am suddenly happy. It's time to start making soup again.
