Turmeric Soup Notes

I learned this in Nepal; instead of chicken soup (chicken is expensive), they make turmeric soup. It is just as good for a cold.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (or ginger paste)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water
  • to taste, salt
Serves / Yields

Preparation Instructions

Heat oil and saute ginger and garlic. Add turmeric and fry for about a minute. Break the egg in and saute until cooked. Add water and heat until it boils. Add salt to taste.

Quick Shopping List

I would not use the amounts above, if you add fresh or dried onion and a tablespoon of tumeric it makes a good cup of healing soup

Although the recipe contains the ingredients for convalescence and a powerful yellow hue, as a soup it was far too watery.
