⚠️ SHIPPING ALERT ⚠️
With so many great cooks spending more time in their kitchens, we have seen a huge surge in orders. We are working as quickly as we can to ship every order, but are currently at about a 14-day delay in order fulfillment.
We appreciate your patience and your business. Fresh spices are on the way so you can keep everybody in your world fed, happy, and—most of all—healthy.
Spice House US shipping comes in four flavors:
We typically process orders within 24 hours, Monday-Saturday, though this can take longer during peak periods. When Premium Shipping is ordered we guarantee same-day processing for orders received by noon Central time, Monday-Sunday.
Delivery time for Free Shipping is harder to estimate. We use UPS SurePost®, which is a joint venture between UPS and the USPS. UPS collects the package from us, trucks it to your general neighborhood, and then hands it over to the Post Office for delivery to you. For many customers in urban areas, this is a fast and economical option. For some customers in rural areas and on the west coast, this can take a week or more.
Shipments to Canada are delivered by our friends at Canada Post. We offer duty paid and unpaid options.
We recommend Duty Paid for larger shipments. When you select this option, we add import duty to your order total and pay the duty for you. Your shipment will speed across the border with no delays at customs.
Duty Unpaid is the more economical option, but it takes a few more days at the border. If your shipment is inspected and duty is owed, then Canada Post will invite you to pay that amount, along with an inspection fee of C$10.
Shipments worth C$20 or more are dutiable. This will change for commercial shipments from C$20 to C$40 when the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is implemented at some point in 2020. Watch this space.
The Spice House ships worldwide via USPS Priority Mail International. For orders outside the USA or Canada, we are unable to guarantee delivery once the shipment has reached its destination country. Any claims of missing shipments or damaged goods will have to be resolved via the destination country’s postal service. To minimize the likelihood of your package sustaining delivery problems, be certain every detail of your address is correct (it may help to confirm that your address is recognized on Google Maps). The Spice House is not responsible for any fees, duties, or taxes imposed by any customs enforcement entity. We do not offer any free shipping on orders going outside the USA or Canada (see stipulations above).
APO and FPO
We are delighted—honored, in fact—to ship our spices to APO and FPO addresses, wherever they may be in the world. These orders tend to get priority handling.
A week or so after you order, you will get an email from us asking how we did. If your spices are not amazing, then please let us know. If a jar broke, a bag came open, or an item is missing, then please say so. Pictures are especially helpful so we can learn from our mistakes.
You can email us anytime at email@example.com. You can also call us at 312-676-2414. We answer the phone seven days a week: 10 AM - 7 PM CT Monday-Friday and 10 AM - 5 PM CT on Saturdays and Sundays.
