- Maple sugar in the seasoning caramelizes on the potatoes for a sweet, crispy finish.
- Toss peeled, evenly cut potatoes with oil, butter, and the maple garlic blend; roast in a single layer for best texture.
- Doubling the seasoning or adding a little extra maple will give you a candied result.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good substitute for Great North Maple Garlic?
Mix 1 tablespoon maple sugar or brown sugar with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Adjust garlic and sweetness to taste. You can also use 1 tablespoon maple syrup plus a sprinkle of garlic powder if you prefer a wet glaze.
How do I get the outside extra crispy and the inside tender?
Cut the potatoes into uniform pieces, pat dry, then toss with oil and butter. Spread in a single layer with space between pieces. Roast at a higher temp such as 400 to 425 F or use convection, and flip once during baking.
How long should I bake them based on cut size?
Thin coins: 10 to 15 minutes. 1/2 inch cubes: 20 to 25 minutes. Larger chunks: 30 to 40 minutes. Test with a fork for tenderness and watch the edges for browning.
Can I make these vegan?
Yes. Replace the melted butter with an equal amount of plant based butter or increase the cooking oil slightly. Maple flavor and garlic work the same.
How do I make them candied?
Double the maple garlic seasoning or add 1 to 2 teaspoons of maple syrup or brown sugar. Roast as directed and consider finishing under a broiler for 1 to 2 minutes to caramelize, watching closely to avoid burning.
Should I use foil on the sheet pan?
Foil makes cleanup easier and keeps juices from sticking. For extra crisping, use a lightly oiled rimmed baking sheet without foil or use parchment. Avoid overcrowding so steam does not cause sogginess.
How should I store and reheat leftovers?
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 days. Reheat in a 350 to 400 F oven or in a skillet to restore crispness. Microwaving will warm them but can make them soft.

This recipe is Fabulous!! I doubled the recipe. Using a mandolin, sliced 2 yams into thin medallions. In a bowl, tossed them with the oil, melted butter and TWO heaping tablespoons of this seasoning. Spread them out on a large foil-covered baking sheet with cooking spray. After 15 mins, turned them over, sprinkled just a little more seasoning on the other side and cooked 10 more minutes. Super yummy!! Next time, I’ll try dicing the yams. LOVE this seasoning!!
