Tomato Powder

Quality
Freshness
Made in Small Batches

Tomato Powder is a versatile, convenient ingredient made by dehydrating tomatoes and grounding them into a fine powder. A spoonful of this scarlet powder brings the essence of ripe tomatoes to your dishes. Add an instant punch of umami to all your favorite sauces, soups, stews, and even savory baked goods. The intense tomato flavor is sweet, tart, and savory.

We recommend storing in the refrigerator to maintain longevity of the spice.

  • Combine equal parts tomato powder and warm water to create an instant tomato paste.
  • Use tomato powder as you would any ground spice, in homemade seasoning blends and barbecue rubs.
  • Add a spoonful to soups, broths, chilis, and gravies for extra savory flavor and a rich color.

Tomato Powder is a testament to the magic of modern food technology, ready to infuse your meals with the rich, tangy, and sweet taste of tomatoes in a form that's easy to use. Tomato Powder is a great substitute when you need a little more tomato sauce or tomato paste in a dish, but don't want to waste a whole can for just a spoonful. Store this tomato seasoning in your refrigerator, where it will last. This is very useful in the off-season, when fresh tomatoes aren't very flavorful.

Once you try this dehydrated tomato powder, you will be surprised at how many other uses you will find. If you make your own pasta, tomato seasoning adds a lovely flavor as well as color. Sprinkle it on pizza, bread or salads for flavor enhancement. The powder also can be used to thicken sauces, stews and gumbos.

Unparalleled Taste and Versatility

There's something special about the flavor of tomato powder. It captures the juicy, sun-ripened goodness of fresh tomatoes in a way that canned or bottled tomato products simply can't.

Whether you're concocting a quick pasta sauce, spicing up a homemade pizza, or adding depth to a slow-cooked stew, tomato powder imparts an intense tomato flavor that is both comforting and invigorating. The powder form allows you to control the intensity of the tomato flavor in your dishes, from a subtle hint to a robust punch. It's also a great way to add color to your dishes with its vibrant, natural red hue.

Not limited to Italian or Mediterranean cuisines, tomato powder is an international culinary star. It can be found in the recipes of several different cultures, from the spicy curries of India to the hearty soups of Eastern Europe. And let's not forget the role it plays in various BBQ rubs and sauces, where it adds a certain depth of flavor and a touch of acidity that balances the sweetness of other ingredients.

Surprisingly Convenient

As a pantry staple, tomato powder's convenience is unbeatable. It's shelf-stable, meaning you don't have to worry about it spoiling like fresh tomatoes. The Spice House jar also takes up less space than canned tomatoes, making it a perfect choice for small kitchens or for those who like to keep their pantry neatly organized. The ease of use is another significant advantage - just add water to bring it back to a paste-like consistency, or use it directly in your dry mixes.

A Must-Have for Adventurous Cooks

The Spice House’s tomato powder is a must-have in the pantry of any cook who appreciates the depth and versatility it brings to the culinary experience. It's a quick and simple way to add flavor, color, and nutrients to your meals. If you've never used it before, now is the time to explore the endless possibilities it offers. Once you start using tomato powder, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a kitchen novice, tomato powder from The Spice House is a valuable addition to your culinary arsenal.

The smart and tasty addition to your dishes.

This Tomato Powder is yummy and fresh! It can be handy if you are halfway through cooking dinner and realize you are out of tomatoes. But this is also great for adding a little zing to scrambled eggs, meatloaf, and boiled potatoes.

Tried this first when making The Spice House homemade tomato soup recipe. It is so good! I also love it in place of ketchup in French dressing.
