Central Street is a great salt free seasoning.
While I enjoy the way that salt brings out the flavor in a steak or beef roast, my wife's blood pressure says whoa. This spice mix, once titled Old World Third Street", enables the conjoining of the flavor of the spice mix with independent use of salt which brings out the flavor and savory taste of the meat. I wish more spice blends were salt free for this reason. I fork the surface of both sides of the meat, then drizzle olive oil and follow with Central Street Salt-free Seasoning and salt to taste. The oil helps to infuse and adhere the seasonings to the meat while grilling or roasting. I add The Spice House Smoke seasoning seasonally, It adds a taste of old-world northern Germany to the flavor. Gesegnete Mahlzeit!
We have used a blend of this plus the regular salt added seasoning for oven-backed chicken wings for the past few years, but now decided to try it as a single no-salt blend for boneless chicken breasts and peeled shrimp in an air fryer we bought in the Spring. After reviewing online air fryer recipes, we found that Central Street Salt-Free contained all the separate ingredients the recipes called for. Now we have a one pkg mix and all the benefits of healthy eating!
This is one of my most used seasonings - a great rub for any kind of meat that allows you to use the amount and type of salt you want.
Haven't used it yet all my spices are in storage until I move, but I not I will enjoy them will order more once I get moved.
