Za'atar

From the Arabic for thyme, our za'atar is mixed with lemony sumac, nutty sesame, minty hyssop, and oregano. Spread it on a pita with olive oil, or sprinkle it on roast vegetables, meatballs, and kebabs. For a great dip, simply mix into olive oil and plain yogurt.

Details

Za'atar spice is often mixed with olive oil and spread on bread. Some prefer to do this at the table, while others prefer to bake this mixture into the bread rounds. Za'atar also serves as a seasoning to sprinkle on vegetables, salads, meatballs or kebabs. Much like sausage seasonings, each country and family has a distinctive style of Za'atar. Our particular blend is Israeli in style. *Sumac is a member of the cashew family. Ingredients: Sumac (sumac, salt), sesame, thyme, hyssop, oregano.

Delicious Spice

Great flavor. I like how this Za'atar has sumac and hyssop and it not substituted with thyme like some other brands.

Sprinkle, Sprinkle

I am a fan of having as many varieties of spice blends on hand (never mind making my own)-- this Za'atar is essential to making my roasted egg plant with buttermilk sauce and pomegranate, just adds a little something special. My boyfriend (very curious one he is), thought it was garlic powder, lmfao... he has now found many other uses for it.

Great Zaatar

Should have bought 2 bottles. I've been putting this on anything I can since it arrived. I especially love it on eggs!

Wonderful Za'atar!

I sprinkle za-atar over salad for a rich, complex flavor addition to my salads without having to add oil or other dressing. Salad vegetables have never tasted better.

Roast Chicken

Mix this with some Aleppo pepper and cook in a pan with butter until red and fragrant then coat your spatchcocked chicken and some salt and roast. You will never have a better chicken.
