Hungarian Half-Sharp Paprika

Hungary is world famous for paprika, and the town of Kalocsa is the epicenter of the paprika world. While many blends come from the country's hot, steppe-like region, this exquisitely flavorful Kalocsan variety is produced in the Danube valley. Spicy and earthy, it adds heat to goulash and pörkölt. Available in Sweet and Half Sharp.

Details

This paprika is ground from a hotter variety of paprika pepper known as feldes medium sharp. The flavor is similar to a red bell pepper crossed with the heat of a fiery little cayenne pepper, and it’s great in spinach and chickpea stew or bean dishes. Use it anywhere you usually use sweet paprika, but be careful – a little goes a long way! We also carry Organic Paprika.
