Dried minced onions are one of the best shortcuts you can use to save time in the kitchen. Add these finely minced pieces to dishes with low liquid or short cooking times, including meatloaf, gravy, dips, and savory breads or muffins. To rehydrate, simply soak in warm water for about 15 minutes, then drain. Once they’re rehydrated, they’re a flavorful substitute for fresh onions. My husband likes onion flavor, but hates chunks of onion in his food. He loves when I cook with this minced onion. The flavor is so nice. The flavor comes through perfectly and a little goes a long way! Will buy over and over again!
I used this minced onion in combination with minced garlic, garlic powder and other spices to make a copycat blend of Garlic, Garlic sold by Tastefully Simple. Making my own with SH spices saves me a ton of money over the TS brand. Just sayin'!!
