This is a French interpretation of an Indian Masala called vadavam, from southern India where French colonial influence is still felt. This vadouvan French masala curry has a rich savory flavor that is more familiar to Western palates than many Indian spice mixtures. Use this masala curry powder to make French-style curried chicken salad, as a marinade for shrimp or fish, or wherever you would use regular curry powder. Ingredient: Turmeric, coriander, cumin, spices, shallots, onion, garlic, cane sugar, curry leaves, kosher salt.

Delightful Seasoning!

Milder and gentler than most curry powders, I use this in many dishes, some rather surprising. So far I have used it in cream of crab soup, mushroom soup, all manner of egg dishes from scrambles to egg salad, rice baked with vegetables and cheeses, all gratin dishes for that matter, and many fish dishes as well. My first taste was only months ago, but I am hooked! It will always have a place of prominence on my spice rack.

I recently bought Vadouvan curry after seeing it used on Simply Ming

It's a subtle curry that paired beautifully with mussels in the classic French dish La Mouclade. I am a vegetarian so I won't be trying it in chicken salad, which I understand is very popular in France, but I am looking forward to using it in deviled eggs, and I think it will be a great addition to the chickpea version of chicken salad.

This is a great blend, you can take this sweet with citrus notes or savory with a bit of spice. Great on shrimp.

A great mild curry that is full of flavor

The shallots really give this curry a strong backbone to build the rest of the blend's flavor on, and it's GREAT in chickpea dishes!
