Horseradish is native to Eastern Europe. For centuries, the English have prized horseradish as a sauce to accompany roast beef. Powdered horseradish is also a hit in cocktail sauce, simply mix it into ketchup with fresh lemon juice. The volatile oils in horseradish evaporate with heat, which is why it is served cold.

Details

For a classic cocktail dipping sauce, add 2 tablespoons horseradish powder to 1 cup ketchup. For a thick, sharp horseradish sauce, mix 1 part horseradish powder with 3 parts water. For more of a sauce, thin out with yogurt, lemon juice or vinegar. Since heat destroys the volatile oils that give horseradish its distinctive bite, we recommend you add horseradish powder after cooking. Ingredients: Horseradish.

Horse Radish Powder

It’s great. I mix it with ketchup or mustard and use it on sandwich’s. Or add a larger amount to plane yellow mustard and make hot Chinese Mustard.

Horseradish powder

I love horseradish with beef. I first purchased The Spice House Horseradish (many years ago) to have in my spice drawer in case I ran out of prepared horseradish, but the horseradish powder is so good I now just use the powdered.

Love it

This is great for making my own Wasabi. The Spice House never disappoints.

Horseradish

I like spicy stuff. I used it in a dip with artichoke hearts. Very good.
