Mesquite Smoke Powder

Native to the southwestern US and Mexico, the slow-burning wood of the hardy mesquite tree gives meats a lighter, sweeter flavor than hickory. It is key to the flavor of classic Texas barbecue. This Mesquite Smoke Powder is handy for those of us without access to mesquite-fired pits. Also available in Hickory Smoke Powder, or Hickory Smoke Salt.

Details

Mesquite smoke powder is made from real mesquite smoke. Its flavor profile pairs well with dark meats such as ribs and homemade sausages. You can also shake a little of this tenfold-strength mesquite powder into barbecue sauce, baked beans, or homemade potato chips for an addictively sweet and smoky flavor. Mesquite Seasoning Ingredients: Natural mesquite flavor, silicon dioxide, and maltodextrin-a corn product.

Excellent Flavor

This is fairly new to my kitchen but it is AMAZING! I added it to BBQ pulled chicken last week and the entire family loved it.

Add this to everything.

Anytime I make a dish that involves cheese I tend to amp it up with a “bacon accent”. To extend and amplify my bacon taste (sometimes adding bacon just adds a greasy complexion) I add this mesquite powder.

The flavor is natural and authentic- so much better than top rated liquid smokes I’ve tried.

I also add this powder to bbq sauce, Mexican dishes for a “smoked chipotle” effect and meat marinades. Love this stuff and can’t imagine a kitchen without it.
