It takes nine pounds of top-grade fresh California garlic to make just one pound of dehydrated garlic. This roasted garlic powder keeps for an extended amount of time and its flavor is just like fresh, making this product easy to substitute for fresh garlic. 1/8 teaspoon of granulated garlic is equal to one medium-sized garlic clove, and a 1/2 tablespoon is about equal to one whole bulb. Release the flavor by mixing it with a liquid. If there's no liquid in your recipe (like sprinkling garlic on a salad in lieu of dressing, for example), cover the amount of garlic needed with water and let soak for about 15 minutes and then use as planned.
