Perfect for grilled carne asada.
My best attempt at carne asada so far. The flank steak was perfectly tender and amazingly flavorful.
Carne Asada Recipe
Salt the entire flank steak first to taste. Not too heavy.
½ cup - Soy Sauce
½ cup - Orange Juice
Slightly < ¼ cup - Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice (1 lime if juicy)
Slightly < ½ Cup - Vegetable Oil (not olive so it can withstand high heat of grill)
½ to ¾ Package - Spice House Carne Asada Mix (Closer to ¾ of a flatpack.)
~2 tsp - Spice House English Prime Rib Rub (I used as I has some leftover from Christmas and used mainly for the celery seeds. The garlic, onion, and pepper go well too.)
2 tsp - Ground Cumin (Use more if not using Spice House brand cumin. I find theirs to amazingly fragrant and potent compared to the store brands.)
1 tsp - Chipotle Powder (You could probably go up to 2 tsp depending on your taste.)
1 tsp - Garlic Powder
½ tsp - Ground Guajillo Chiles
½ tsp - Ground Allspice
Mix all ingredients and marinade flank steak overnight. Give light dusting of Spice House Carne Asada Mix just before grilling (Royal Oak charcoal brand with dry mesquite chips is my preference).
