About This Blend
A “butcher's rub” is a coarse mix of spices that’s both flavorful and attractive on meat. We named this blend to honor the hard-working immigrants who were part of the meat industry, working in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago, south of 39th Street between Halsted and Western.
Pepper, garlic, kosher salt, sugar, shallots, bell peppers, parsley.

This is my go-to blend for grilling steaks and also adds a nice touch to hamburgers.
"Every" spice purveyor has a pepper and garlic rub. What makes this superior is that garlic and pepper are the main ingredients, not salt, and the garlic bits are the perfect size. I use this on nearly all grilled meats; sauces; caprese salad; tomatoes more generally. It's my go-to dry seasoning.
We have fallen in love with several of the spices we ordered, especially the Back of the Yards. It adds a great taste to bbq.
Thanks and keep upt eh good work.
