Much like fennel, fenugreek has been grown for centuries because it was believed to have healing powers. It was even an integral component in "holy smoke," a part of the Egyptian ritual of embalming the dead. Fenugreek has a sweet, nutty flavor with an alluring maple aroma. It is primarily used in Turkish, Egyptian, and Middle Eastern cuisine, where it turns up in dishes from soup to bread. You can also use fenugreek when pickling or making your own chutneys and jams to add sweetness to these dishes. Ingredients: Fenugreek seeds.
I recently was changing how I store our spices in our kitchen. While I was changing from store bought bottles and a mismatch of separately purchased spice storage to one complete set of jars and racks. I needed to restock some fresh spices and I started looking for flat pack spices and found the Spice House. They have both bottled and flat packs. I didn't like the amount of bottles (plastic & glass) that ended up being thrown in my recycling can so flat packs was the only option I saw both eco-friendly and cost effective. I placed my order and they arrived in a very timely manner. The spices are very fresh and of great quality. If anyone asks me where to purchase spices at a reasonable cost I always recommend The Spice House. My friends and family are also impressed with the quality and amount of spices offered here as well.
