Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning has been a customer (and staff) favorite, for more than 40 years. While this elegant, all-purpose seasoning is delicious for nearly every savory application, it’s always helpful to have specific inspiration. Inspired Seafood
Pan-fried, oven-roasted, grilled, or poached…this seasoning is a must-have for seafood. The light, allium flavor is especially good with fish like perch, cod, trout, tilapia, and whitefish. You can never go wrong with salmon or tuna filets either. Try this salmon en papillote recipe for an easy dinner that feels fancy.
Shellfish are outstanding with this seasoning. Scallops, shrimp, and fried oysters are particularly delicious. Simply fry them in butter or bake them with olive oil and a generous sprinkle of spice.
Fish frys are fabulous with Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning. You can make a basic flour dredge by mixing 2-3 tablespoons of seasoning into a cup of all-purpose flour or panko bread crumbs.
Delectable Vegetables
From artichoke to zucchini, vegetables sing with flavor when they’re perfectly seasoned. It’s simple, combine equal parts olive oil and Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning for an exceptional vegetable marinade. You can season any preparation of vegetables by following the previous tablespoon measurements per pound of veggie. Add an optional splash of fresh lemon juice for an extra pop of flavor. We love Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning for our zucchini pancakes and roasted potatoes, but don’t let us stop you there.
Marvelous Mac and Cheese
For an over-the-top, “pass me more please,” dish of mac ‘n cheese, add a dash of Lakeshore to the mix. You can whisk it right into the cheese sauce for more depth of flavor. This all gets even better with a baked mac ‘n cheese casserole. For every cup of buttered breadcrumb topping, add a tablespoon of seasoning. Just make sure you use plain breadcrumbs so the spice blend can shine through.
Exceptional Eggs
Eggs, butter, and a little saute pan skills are all you need to create a classic omelette. For a life-changing omelette, whisk a little Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning right into the eggs. Half a teaspoon per egg is a good amount to start with. You can follow this measurement when seasoning your own egg scramble skillet or egg casserole dish. We also love sprinkling Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning over our fried eggs at the table.
Delicious Dips and Dressings
The next time you’re curating a crudite, consider whipping up a side of dip with Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning to go with the veggie sticks. Try mixing a tablespoon or two of seasoning into a cup of sour cream or yogurt. You can also try this when jazzing up plain mayo for an inspired sandwich spread.
Create a basic vinaigrette by whisking equal parts olive oil and your favorite vinegar with a sprinkle of Lakeshore Shallot & Herb Seasoning. Add a small teaspoon of dijon mustard for extra edge before drizzling and dressing your favorite bowl of greens.

Can’t wait to try the Lake Shore Drive Seasoning – I use the Parisian Shallot mixed with a little mayo for an egg salad sandwich that is awesome!
For those who bake: try adding this wonderful shallot & herb blend to your dinner roll dough. The resulting rolls are great with soup! Also, adding it to bread dough makes a delicious loaf for turkey or ham sandwiches.
I have been using this spice for years! It is a staple! So love it’s versatility! If you don’t have it, GET IT!!

I fell in love with this seasoning back in the early ‘90’s at the Milwaukee store where it was called “Fox Point Seasoning”. It and some of your other great blends have kept me a loyal Spice House customer for 30 years!
