Blended from our premium cocoa powders and combined with some of our rich Indian spices, Cocoa Masala provides that much needed warmth on a cold winter's day. Mix this gourmet hot cocoa with regular or non-dairy milk and top with marshmallows for a spicy treat! For 1 cup of cocoa, mix 2 tablespoons cocoa mix with 1/4 cup hot milk and stir well to make a smooth paste. Add 3/4 cup milk, heat and enjoy. Do not boil. For a family-sized batch, whisk 1/2 cup gourmet hot cocoa mix with 1 cup hot milk, and stir until smooth. Then, slowly add 4 cups milk, heat and serve. Do not boil. Ingredients: Cane sugar, cocoa, spices, vanilla powder (dextrose, vanilla extractives), kosher salt.

I love cocoa and I love chai but have I ever thought of combining these two loves? No, no I have not. So, when I read the description of the Cocoa Masala, I was intrigued and instantly had to order it. I was Not disappointed, delicious rich hot Cocoa with those wonderful Indian spices - amazing! I will be ordering more.
I didn't use this as just a hot chocolate, it mixes amazingly well with coffee. Around 10oz coffee, with 2 tb Masala Mix and about 4 oz milk. The blend of spices and chocolate are inspired, pleasing to the mouth and nose. I will have to order a larger container.
While certainly inventive, this hot chocolate blend definitely tends harder towards the "Garam Masala" side of things than the "Hot Chocolate" side. We made a cup, decided it wasn't for us, and disposed of the rest. If you like spice-heavy beverages it might be worth a try, but I don't think we'd purchase this one again given the other options that are available.
