Cilantro

Rated 5.0 out of 5
Based on 5 reviews

Originally from Iran, and now thriving in Southeast Asia, North Africa, and Mexico, cilantro also known as coriander or Chinese parsley is perhaps the most global of herbs. It gives pho and guacamole a fresh, lemon-lime taste that most people adore. Add it at the very end of your cooking, though: it s also an herb that s quite delicate by nature.

Details

Cilantro or coriander is used in kitchens from Mexico to China, from India to Iran, to Egypt and beyond. Cilantro is the leaf of the coriander plant. It has a fresh, lemon/lime taste that most people love especially when added to guacamole, soups across Asia, gormeh sabzi and ful medames. When cooking with fresh cilantro, always make sure to add it at the very end of the cooking process to retain its flavor and color. Although most recipes call for fresh cilantro, it can be difficult to find in cold climates during the winter months. These dried cilantro leaves work nicely as a replacement. The dried cilantro spice is also good for people just acquiring a taste for cilantro, as their flavor is milder than the fresh herb. Ingredients: Cilantro.

Cilantro

It's not always easy to find good fresh cilantro. I tried a couple different dried cilantro's and this one is the best in my opinion.

Wonderful to have around but not for all dishes calling for cilantro

Well your probably a better chef than me but I really like having this around because I always forget to buy the cilantro. I have found that It works really well in some dishes but its not a substitute for chopping up fresh cilantro for Gauc, Chili etc. I love it for a quick chiick pea masala.

Rare Quality Find!

Like others have said, dried cilantro is so hard to come by. Honestly this was the whole reason why I started ordering from SH in the first place. But, the quality. Dang. It's not lacking in any potency... it barely takes second place to freshly chopped. Love to add this to my cilantro lime rice and lime-mayo-soy sauce turkey wrap spread. So many reasons to love this cilantro.

Dried cilantro is hard to come by!

I always have an abundance of fresh cilantro, but I’m so happy to have found dried cilantro. It’s such a good herb to have year round and it tastes fresh too.

Cilantro That Tastes Like Cilantro!

I just love cilantro, but for some time now I haven’t been able to find fresh cilantro that actually tastes like it should. It tends to be bland and more like parsley. It also doesn’t smell like cilantro. I prefer fresh but your dried cilantro is really good!!
