Bicentennial Game Rub

Bicentennial Game Rub

Rated 5.0 out of 5
Based on 6 reviews

Ever wonder what food tasted like in Colonial America? In 1976, we did some research and created our Bicentennial Game Rub blend to celebrate the USA's 200th birthday. The coarse grind ensures slow flavor release into hearth-cooked meats like goose, duck, chicken, and pork. Rub a teaspoon per pound onto your roast, and remember to baste.

The Spice House

Details

This remains the classic blend for holiday turkey seasoning. The smell of the spices and roasting turkey is as much a Christmas scent as is the pine Christmas tree. Hunters love this blend too, as the coriander and orange pair will with the gaminess of venison and wild fowl. Rub about 1 tsp per pound into large cuts of meat before roasting. Ingredients: Kosher salt, pepper, sugar, turmeric, orange peel, coriander.

Smoked split chicken breasts

Apply generously as a rub to bone-in split chicken breasts with skin on. Place in food storage bag and allow to marinate in refrigerator for about 12 hours. Slow cook at 230 to 250 degrees in ceramic smoker to internal temp of 165. Chicken remains moist with slow cook.

This is my go-to seasoning!

LOVE this blend and use it on virtually everything. I think The Spice House does a disservice by calling it "game" rub. It's fantastic on burgers, beef, chops, chicken. I use it on the meat I'm putting in soups and stews as well. Don't be put off by the name. It's great on everything!
