Creole Black Bean Soup ExactPack

Prepared double the recipe for a large group of friends. They couldn’t get enough…thoroughly loved it! I did offer white rice on the side for those who wanted a bit less spicy flavor.

the recipe as stated is VERY salty, with the right amount of heat - and little depth of flavor. I think that I expected more out of a packet of spices. I adjusted it with some acid (white wine vinegar) sweetness to cut the salt (a little plain white sugar) and an extra can of salt-free tomatoes.
it all was eaten - and the family liked it. I'll likely make something like this again - but from scratch using my own Spice House spices.

Between the canned beans and tomatoes, sausage and the spice mix, this dish is close to being too salty. Will serve over rice, and hope that tones it down. Next time, I'll cook my own beans--without salt.

No problem preparing a very tasty soup with this ExactPack. I did not have sausage on hand and being snowbound, made good use of the beans. Adapted well with my slow-cooker on low. I held off adding salt until the end. Wonderful spice mix covered the need for more additions. Perfect heat.

Easy recipe. I ordered again.
