Jamaican Red Bean Soup
The habanero chile pepper is one of the hottest peppers in the world. This chile pepper originated in the Amazon basin and eventually made its way to Mexico. The best habaneros are grown in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. Habanero peppers have a delightfully fruity flavor and devilish heat. Their heat level ranges from 150,000 to 300,000 Scoville heat units. You may notice flavor notes of mangoes, citrus, and flowers. Ground Habaneros are a convenient way to add tropical sweetness and serious heat in recipes for chili con carne, chutney, Jamaican jerk seasoning (as we do in ours), meat marinades, rustic salsas, BBQ sauce, hot sauces, and even fruit jams. Ingredients: Habanero chiles.
