The habanero chile pepper is one of the hottest peppers in the world. This chile pepper originated in the Amazon basin and eventually made its way to Mexico. The best habaneros are grown in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. Habanero peppers have a delightfully fruity flavor and devilish heat. Their heat level ranges from 150,000 to 300,000 Scoville heat units. You may notice flavor notes of mangoes, citrus, and flowers. Ground Habaneros are a convenient way to add tropical sweetness and serious heat in recipes for chili con carne, chutney, Jamaican jerk seasoning (as we do in ours), meat marinades, rustic salsas, BBQ sauce, hot sauces, and even fruit jams. HAVE USED THIS FOR A FEW YEARS

If you like heat, you will love this. I can't say it necessarily changes the flavor of what you use it for, but it definitely enhances the flavor. I put it in jelly's, ranch, and mix it in with my crushed red pepper flakes. I use it regularly. I have given it for gifts and always get positive feedback. Also, if you happen to sniff it prepare to sneeze 10-12 times.

Superb balance of heat and flavor

I had high hopes for this, as it is one of my favorite chilies and am happy to say this has far surpassed them. As expected the habaneros have an excellent level of heat and fruity flavor when fresh but this seemingly adds a depth of flavor and perhaps a slight smokiness with it from the drying process I suppose. What can I say, it's delicious and hot and a little goes a long way. If you like habaneros it is well worth trying.
