Curing salt is used in butchering and craft meat producing to enhance preservation. Pink curing salt is the standard cure for ham, sausage, bacon, corned beef, poultry, andfish. Curing salt is not edible on its own and is colored bright pink in order to avoid confusion with regular salt. Ingredients: Salt, sodium nitrite 6.25%, certified food color FD&C red #40, less than 1% propylene glycol.

Perfect for making jerky

I bought this because I had read curing salt works wonders for making beef jerky and helps it last longer. I’ve used it a couple of times and have had no problems so far.
